Your First Meeting with Custer Financial Advisors
(We’re excited!)
-
You can expect your first meeting to last roughly 45 minutes to an hour. The initial meeting is time for you to ask questions, tell us what your top financial goals and priorities are, and continue to ensure we are a good fit for one another. Based on the goals you share, we will begin our behind the scenes work, drafting potential strategies that fit best your goals and situation.
-
You don’t need to bring anything to our first meeting, however, the following items are helpful for our team to begin designing your plan and investment portfolio:
Your top financial goals and priorities
General sense of monthly income and expenses
Current debts and interest rates
Amount of money in savings
Information about work benefit plans
Approximate value of retirement and investment portfolios
Most recent tax return

When we go to the doctor, we seek professional advice from a trusted expert, but we still want to have a basic understanding of our condition and the treatment options before we make any decisions.
We believe that financial planning should be the same way. We don't expect our clients to know everything about finance, but we strive to educate them so they understand the reasoning behind our recommendations and how implementing a particular financial plan could help them achieve their goals.
We don't believe in the "just trust me" approach. We want our clients to be informed partners in their financial planning process.
We believe in first analyzing your situation, discussing tax planning, strategizing the best course of action, and including you in the conversation before considering what investment assets to hold. This often looks like asking you questions during our meeting, not to intimidate, but to be sure we understand.
After our first meeting our “behind the scenes” work will begin, but we are committed to keeping you updated during the entire process. We strive to be honest with you regarding ways that we can and cannot help as we craft your financial plan.
